Harsco’s BLACK BEAUTY® IRON blasting abrasives are high quality, chemically inert and contain less than .1% free silica, and are utilized in a wide range of applications. This includes the removal of surface coatings such as rust, paint, and scale, from a variety of substrates, especially structural steel and concrete.

Medium: Use Medium for general purpose repair and maintenance blasting including removal of paint, rust, mill scale, and other coatings from surfaces. For 3.5-5.0 (MIL) surfaces profiles. Use 1/4" minimum nozzle size. 12-40 Mesh Approx.
Fine: Utilized for new construction, light paint and rust removal and special maintenance applications requiring reduced profiles. For 2.5-3.5 (MIL) surface profiles. Use 3/16" minimum nozzle size. 20-40 Mesh Approx.
Extra Fine: Applicable for light blasting requiring a clean surface and minimum anchor profile including brush-off blast or high-pressure water blast systems. For 1.5-3.0 (MIL) surface profiles. Use 1/8" minimum nozzle size. 30-60 Mesh Approx.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Extra Fine mesh size is not approved for use in California per the California Air Resource Board (CARB) per California Code of Regulations, title 17, section 92530.
